Auckland school zone changes expected to cause surging house prices
Changes to some Auckland school zones are expected to cause already surging house prices, to explode near the most popular schools
4 May 2018
Some high schools are proposing to stop out-of-zone applications.
The Real Estate Institute says price growth in some school zones is already well above the median Auckland growth of 21 percent over the last three years.
Chief Executive Bindi Norwell says in the same period house prices in the Rangitoto College zone surged by 35 percent...and in the Glendowie College zone, they're up 28 percent.
She predicts there'll be far more pressure on prices, if schools stop accepting out-of-zone students.
