Ryan Reynolds has joked putting children into the showbiz world is like “child abuse”

The 41-year-old actor and his wife Blake Lively are parents to daughters James, three, and Inez, 19 months, but Ryan has insisted he doesn’t want his brood to be pushed into becoming stars at a young age, as he thinks it is cruel to make a child deal with the pressure that fame carries

When asked why he doesn’t want to put his children into show business, he said: “Mostly because I’m against child abuse. Show business, for a little kid, that’s a crazy pursuit. Acting is great. Theater school, that kind of [thing] - amazing. I don’t know why you would put your kid in show business.”

Whilst the ‘Deadpool 2’ star isn’t keen on showing off his kids on camera, his eldest daughter has already gotten a taste of fame after a voice recording of the toddler was sampled by family friend Taylor Swift in her song ‘Gorgeous’.

Speaking during an appearance on ‘Good Morning America’ on Tuesday (15.05.18), he said of the track: “It was a voice memo that ended up in a song. It’s pretty amazing. My daughter’s had a really, really terrible ego problem now after that song came out. She’s insufferable.

“I don’t know if she knows she’s in a Taylor Swift song.”

Ryan’s comments come after he previously admitted he would hate for his daughters to end up as child actors, as young stars in the past have often suffered from mental health issues as a result of their early rise to fame.

He said: "I always think like if you put your kid in show business, just skip the showbiz part, just put them straight into rehab. I see people who are like, 'Oh no I want my child to be like the star of something.' I'm like 'Why? Do you have no access to outside information? Have you ever read a newspaper?' Don't do that."
