NZTA wants to cut road deaths by 100 in the next three years

Our road toll has risen 50 percent since 2013... already 50 more people have died this year than at the same time last year.
A draft paper shows the transport agency wants to reduce the risk of head on crashes, make high-risk intersections safer, and roadsides more forgiving when people make mistakes.
Transport advocacy group, Greater Auckland, says it's great NZTA has, for the first time, given a target.
Spokesperson Matt Lowrie believes it's a realistic one given, just a few years ago, we had almost 150 fewer deaths annually.
