For the second match running the German has been taken to a deciding set, this time by 26th seeded Bosnian Damir Dzumhur .
Zverev says while at times he was thinking about what he'd be having for lunch, he had to focus on each point.
2016 men's champion Novak Djokovic and women's Australian Open winner Caroline Wozniacki have both advanced, while men's fourth seed Grigor Dimitrov and women's fourth seed Elina Svitolina have been bundled out.
