DHBs are pushing for a change in the way New Zealanders get their prescription drugs

They want the way chemists operate restructured - so some won't be able to hand out prescriptions, and only give clinical advice.
Pharmacy Guild chief executive Andrew Gaudin says DHBs have put out a proposal but there's been a pushback from pharmacists.
He says splitting pharmacies' use will completely change how they function.
Andrew Gaudin says DHBs are considering feedback and recognise further work needs to be done.
