Warriors utility Jazz Tevaga is recovering from a shoulder operation after a cancer scare

Warriors utility Jazz Tevaga is recovering from a shoulder operation after a cancer scare

Tevaga underwent surgery last week to have a potentially cancerous growth removed.

Tevaga has told the New Zealand Herald a teammate spotted a lump on his shoulder in the sheds before the Anzac Day loss to Melbourne.

He was subsequently taken for scans and needed a follow-up biopsy before receiving the good news.

Tevaga will go in for a check-up with a specialist tomorrow and hopes to be cleared to return to training over the weekend in preparation for next Friday's match against the Cowboys in Townsville.
