    A tractor driver's dead after a collision on State Highway 8 between Pleasant Point and Timaru


    The driver of the other vehicle has been taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries..

    A Police spokesperson said police would like to speak to anyone who saw the tractor heading towards Timaru between seven and eight this morning.

    Diversions are in place while police work at the crash site, and the road is expected to remain closed for some time yet.
