    The Maori King has joined those remembering Maori elder Koro Wetere


    Mr Wetere died in Te Kuiti yesterday, aged 83.

    King Tuheitia says Mr Wetere spent his whole life committed to Maori development.

    He said he also strengthened the Kiinigtanga's relationship with the Government of the day.

    Mr Wetere's body is lying in state at Turangawaewae Marae.
