Harsh criticism of the Christchurch City Council's priorities

Harsh criticism of the Christchurch City Council's priorities

The council is set to sign off on its 10-billion dollar long term plan tomorrow.

Despite rate hikes of more than five percent, the city's debt is set to skyrocket to 2.1 billion in six years.

Home affordability campaigner Hugh Pavletich says he can't get his head around the decision to spend 252-million dollars on cycle lanes, when people are struggling to pay their rates.
