Four hundred and 30 kilograms of rubbish was removed from the sea floor by divers near Greta Point in Evans Bay yesterday.
It mostly comprised bottles and bits of plastic, but there were also laptops, cellphones, crockery and even two toilets.
The Petone Beach clean-up crew were out on Saturday and also found a lot of plastic.
Coordinator Lorraine Shaab says they collected 14 big rubbish bags of micro-plastics and plastic fragments.
She says it was a huge haul considering the small pieces of rubbish.
