There's a decline in the number of people who know how KiwiSaver works
3 July 2018
The latest ASB KiwiSaver and Investor Confidence surveys suggest just 22 percent indicate they have a high understanding of the retirement scheme, compared to 26 percent last quarter.
Senior economist Chris Tennent-Brown says there's still a lot of people who could benefit from help getting into a suitable fund and making contributions.
He says this is particularly so given the survey reveals 60 percent of respondents admit they need to save more for their retirement.
Tennent-Brown is disappointed Kiwisaver is past its 10 year anniversary, yet a lot of people indicate they don't have a high understanding of how it all works.
