Hurricanes assistant coach John Plumtree has revealed the loose forward has been shopped around to every franchise in the country.
Plumtee says they were interested but ultimately he will be remaining with the Blues, where his off-contract brother Rieko is also expected to stay.
Blues coach Tana Umaga says the contract is with New Zealand Rugby to be completed and it's one of the realities of sport to have players offered elsewhere.
He says that's the agent's job and while it's not been a great year, it's a positive that he's staying.
