A leap in the number of P-related arrests is prompting calls to put users into rehab - not cells

Figures reveal the number of methamphetamine-related arrests has nearly doubled in the last five years.
There were more than four thousand-700 court proceedings over methamphetamine and amphetamine offences in the 2016/2017 year.
Methcon managing director Dale Kirk says there's been an increase in demand for meth across the board.
He says it would be better if the people being convicted were properly rehabilitated and potential users educated about the impacts of the drug.
