More than four-thousand Government workers have walked off the job in a strike for better pay

Staff from Inland Revenue and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment are holding rallies from Invercargill to Whangarei.
The workers are members of the Public Service Association union.
MBIE human resources general manager Richard Griffiths there are contingency plans in place Ministry, and he's confident it can cope with the walkout.
The strike will last two hours.
