We're about to find out if the planned nurses strike will go ahead

We're about to find out if the planned nurses strike will go ahead

The result of the ballot will be released at 10am, after nurses voted on whether to accept the latest pay offer from DHBs.

It's an offer which includes 38 million dollars in additional funding to relieve acute staffing shortages... and their union, the Nurses Organisatio, n is recommending they accept.

But Union spokeswoman Cee Payne says it's been an intense negotiation, and the vote could go either way.

She says there's some residual anger from members, but many also want it to be over so they can get on and change things.
