Tauranga and Te Kauwhata are set to receive major cash boosts from the Government

Tauranga and Te Kauwhata are set to receive major cash boosts from the Government

Tauranga City Council has received 158-million dollars in 10-year interest-free loans to improve water and wastewater infrastructure.

The money will allow the council to cope with growth caused by high housing demand.

Meanwhile, Waikato District Council has received 38-million dollars in loans to build major infrastructure around Te Kauwhata.

It will enable almost three-thousand new homes to be built in the town, which urgently needs extra housing.
