Researchers believe Auckland has a significantly greater meth problem that that in many European cities

It follows levels of the drug found in samples taken from the city's waste water over a week in 2014 and 2015..

Samples have also been taken from waste water plants in four Australian cities.

The Massey University researchers found significantly higher levels of meth than in similar studies carried out in Europe.

They also found, while methamphetamine use is high in Auckland, MDMA and cocaine use is low.
