The NRL and Australian Rugby League Commission have revealed plans to shake up the international calendar, with the Kiwis to play in two yet-to-be-agreed-to tournaments.
The plan includes New Zealand participating in a new Oceania Cup in 2019 with Fiji, Samoa and Tonga, and a 2020 Four Nations tournament alongside Tonga, Samoa, and Australia.
The changes would mean the end of the controversial Denver tests, despite there still being two more years left on the deal.
Peters has told the New Zealand Herald that subject to further changes, they remain committed to the games.
Greg Peters will discuss the new calendar with Rugby League International Federation at a meeting in Singapore later this month.
