The latest in a line of controversies has seen Sunwolves flanker Ed Quirk red carded against the Reds for light contact to the face of an opponent in a ruck.
The dismissal left players and coaches from both sides floored.
All Blacks and Hurricanes first five Beauden Barrett says coming just an hour or so after Chiefs midfielder Johnny Faauli was redcarded for a dangerous no-arms tackle, it made no sense.
