Lawyers gearing up to serve lawsuit on steel company's misleading claims its mesh complied with NZ standards
Lawyers are gearing up to serve a lawsuit on the steel company which lied about its mesh complying with New Zealand standards
24 July 2018
Steel & Tube last year pleaded guilty to two-dozen charges of making false and misleading statements about the mesh.
Lawyer Adina Thorn says hundreds of people are backing a class action against the company, as they're unsure of the quality of the materials their homes have been built with.
She says they're seeking compensation for everyone who's been caused stress and anxiety by having potentially faulty products under there home.
Thorn says many are Cantabrians - which raises extra concerns about earthquakes.
