New Zealand hasn't been a part of the women's world series circuit, but New Zealand Rugby is believed to have tendered to host a joint men's and women's tournament in Hamilton post 2019.
The New Zealand Herald is reporting NZR's licence has been extended and is planning on alternating the event between Hamilton and Fiji.
NZR CEO Steve Tew is giving little away.
Tew says World Rugby made decisions over the weekend and they now need to be formalised and once that's done they will know.
