An Auckland police officer has been accused of illegally tasering a woman

Sean Matthew Doak, is charged with assault using a Taser as a weapon, and illegally presenting a restricted weapon at a person, in September last year.
He's been remanded at large and will appear in court next month.
Auckland City District Commander Superintendent Karyn Malthus has confirmed to our newsroom, a sworn officer, has been charged over an alleged incident.
He says the officer was on duty at the time.
Malthus says the IPCA will be investigating, and Police will carry out an internal employment investigation, pending the outcome of the criminal court proceedings.
He says the officer will not be on front-line duties during this time.
