A warning not to collect shellfish on a stretch of the North Island west coast is being extended

Officials at the Ministry for Primary Industries say shellfish shouldn't be taken from the mouth of Port Waikato southward to Ohawe in Taranaki.
The area includes Aotea and Kawhia Harbours, but not Port Waikato itself.
Warnings are also still in place for the Pelorus Sounds and Akaroa Harbour.
