The Sea Eagles have given away a 24-6 lead to lose 28-24 at Brookvale.
It leaves Barrett's side on 12 points and 14th on the NRL ladder, but equal on points with Canterbury and North Queensland with only Parramatta one win below them.
The Storm have powered past Canberra 44-10 in Melbourne, while the Rabbitohs have come from behind to beat the Eels 26-20 in Sydney.
