A new drug is being added to their Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
The drug MAVIRET will be available to the estimated 200,000 Australians living with Hepatitis C.
MAVIRET contains two direct-acting anti-viral agents which block the life cycle of the virus in a patient.
The move is part of the Australian government's $1 billion investment in new direct-acting antiviral treatments.
