Ruapehu District Mayor Don Cameron says the local community is still in shock after Saturday's fatal bus crash

Ruapehu District Mayor Don Cameron says the local community is still in shock after Saturday's fatal bus crash

A young woman died after a Ruapehu Alpine Lifts bus with 31 people on board rolled on Ohakune Mountain Road.

Turoa Ski Field was closed yesterday due to the crash, but is open again today.

Cameron says with the sheer number of people coming down the mountain, there is always a chance of an accident.

However, Cameron says having one of this magnitude has surprised everyone.
