Catholic priest, Father Magnus Murray, pleaded guilty in 2003 to 10 charges relating to historic offences against four Dunedin boys.
He was sentenced to five years imprisonment, but served less than three before he was released.
An Otago Daily Times investigation found Murray could've targeted as many as 15 boys in Dunedin alone - and more elsewhere.
Survivors say Murray's offending shows why the Catholic Church should be included in a Royal Commission into historic abuse.
