Criminal lawyer Steve Cullen says there are many mechanisms to prevent things
being brought into prisons, so drugs and phones can only be brought in by
corrupt officers.
Chief custodial officer Neil Beales says it's possible staff bring things in
to prisons, but there's no evidence to support that claim.
He says most times it's the prisoners themselves who are smuggling things in.
Beales says there are many areas on and within a body things can get smuggled
in, which is the main route things happen.
