The Hawke's Bay Hawks are hoping history will fall in their favour when they meet the Wellington Saints in their NBL semi-final
4 August 2018
The Hawks head into the playoffs ranked fourth with a 12 win and six loss
record, while the defending champion Saints went through the regular season at
15 and three.
Hawke's Bay coach Zico Coronel says there's been an
uncanny coincidence since the final four format was introduced in 2012.
He says in the last seven years, the fourth seed has beaten the top on three
occasions so the fourth seed is due for an upset this year.
Tip off from Wellington's at 5pm, before the Nelson Giants entertain the
Southland Sharks at 7pm.
