Alex Rufer is done with making up the numbers at the Wellington Phoenix

The All Whites midfielder has re-signed with the 'Nix for the upcoming
A-League season after impressing new coach Mark Rudan.

Rufer made seven appearances off the bench last season and earned four
starts.

He says while he still has a lot to improve on, he's confident he can perform
this season.

Rufer says when he came back from a break he worked hard and now his focus is
on being a starting XI player.

The Phoenix face Melbourne club the Bentleigh Greens in their FFA Cup Round
of 32 match tonight.
