Jeff Green was caught off guard by the enquiry into his team

As coach, Green and his Supercity Rangers players are under police
investigation, following claims of inappropriate betting in the National
Basketball League.

The game in question is understood to be between the Rangers and the Taranaki
Mountain Airs, after the Rangers took a suspicious time-out and made a last
second three-point shot to win by 12 points, that was celebrated
enthusiastically by players.

One of the popular options available to bet on at the TAB is for a team to
win by 11 points or more.

Green denies the allegations, though was surprised to learn the police are
now involved.
