Southern tradies are being urged to protect their livelihoods from opportunistic thieves

Police say offenders in Invercargill are continuing to target trade vehicles on roadsides.
Acting Inspector Peter Graham says with increased building activity in Queenstown and Christchurch, there's a ready market for stolen power tools, batteries and chargers.
He says tradies should leave their vehicles in secure places and make sure valuable tools are secured.
Graham says the tougher they make it for criminals, the better.
