Changes to ATP World Tour's draws next year likely benefit New Zealand's players
Changes to the size of the draws in the ATP World Tour's pinnacle events next year are likely to directly benefit New Zealand's top doubles players
9 August 2018
The ATP Council has approved changes for the Masters 1000 tournaments that
will see doubles draws increased in size from 24 teams to 32, eliminating first
round byes for top teams.
That should see the likes of Artem Sitak and Marcus Daniell join Michael
Venus in the biggest tournaments outside the grand slams.
Daniell says it's fantastic news.
He says you want to be playing with your regular partner for the biggest
events and they can do that in the Grand Slams, but at the moment not in the
next 10 biggest tournaments.
