    Christchurch police have charged a person with assault - after a nurse's thumb was broken by a patient


    Police were called to Hillmorton hospital on Wednesday evening about 9.20.

    One person has been charged with common assault and wilful damage.

    Canterbury District Health Board says it is supporting all people involved - and there will be a full clinical review of the event.
