Along with police and Auckland Transport, they stopped three-thousand cars in Manukau, East Tamaki, Takanini, and Mt Wellington to reward those driving responsibly.
Superintendent Steve Greally says giving flags, miniature rugby balls and meet and greets is about getting the message across to as many people as possible in a different way.
He says they sometimes have trouble reaching young people who don't want to listen to police but the Warriors are respected and listened to across the country. Tickets to the Warriors versus Penrith Panthers match were also handed out to sober drivers.
