Up to 50-thousand primary teachers and principals are striking for the whole
day - calling for a 16 percent pay rise over two years, and improved working
conditions.
Halswell School principal Bruce Topham says they're inviting parents to
support them - as it's on behalf of children, that teachers are striking.

looming crisis if the teaching profession isn't made more attractive for young
people to come into.
