Two women have been remanded in custody for an alleged assault and burglary involving an elderly couple in Christchurch

39-year-old Maera Elizabeth Todd of Whangarei - and 38-year-old Shantai
Lawson of Rotorua - were arrested after the incident - involving a 91 year old
man and an 81 year old woman at their home late yesterday afternoon.
Todd faces three charges including assault on the couple and being armed with
an offensive weapon - and robbing the couple of a cellphone, wallet and other
content.
Todd also has three separate charges for offences said to have occurred in
Napier in late July.
Both women will re-appear at Christchurch District Court in two weeks time.
