Chanel Iman has given birth to a baby girl

The 27-year-old model has announced that she and her husband Sterling Shepard have become parents for the first time after they welcomed their daughter Cali Clay Shepard into the world on Friday (10.08.18)

Taking to her Instagram account over the weekend, the brunette beauty uploaded a photograph of her in hospital with her newborn and she captioned the sweet image: "You were worth every push every contraction! Welcome to our world @caliclayshepard Love mommy and daddy @sterl_shep3 (sic)."

She then followed it up with another close-up shot of her little one's face and simply captioned it: "Cali Clay Shepard 8.10.18 (sic)."

Just a few days prior to her delivery, Chanel admitted that she and her beau were "anxiously awaiting" the arrival of their baby girl and were "ready" for her.

She said: "We are anxiously waiting for you and ready baby girl #38weeks (sic)."

The couple announced they were expecting a baby earlier this year before confirming a few weeks later that their little bundle of joy had been identified as a girl.

They said previously: "Our focus has always been on love and family and we look forward to instilling these qualities in our little one. We are truly blessed!"

The Victoria's Secret star and Sterling married on March 3 in front of family and friends in a sweet ceremony - just four months after they got engaged in December.

Sterling proposed to Chanel in a waterfront spot whilst celebrating the model's birthday, and the news was immediately posted on Instagram.

Chanel shared a picture of her partner's proposal and wrote: "A night full of tears of happiness. I'm beyond excited to spend the rest of my life with you @sterl_shep3 you are my soulmate, my best friend, my everything! Can't wait to be your Mrs. (sic)"

And the American football star was predictably thrilled that Chanel - who he met at former teammate Victor Cruz's birthday party in November 2016 - had said yes.

He shared the same image and wrote: "The catch of my dreams...can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you! (sic)"

The couple also previously recalled how they were instantly attracted to one another.

Chanel said: "When I first met him, he was in a suit and looked so sharp."

Sterling added: "I walked up to her and bought her a drink and it was over after that."
