Police say the elderly woman who had her handbag snatched in Remuera is lucky to be alive

Police say the elderly woman who had her handbag snatched in Remuera is lucky to be alive

The 80-year-old was leaving a Remuera supermarket yesterday afternoon - when
a man violently grabbed her bag, knocking her to the ground.

Detective Senior Sergeant Lloyd Schmid says she is fortunate to have survived
    such a traumatic event.

After viewing the footage she thinks it's lucky someone so frail wasn't more
    seriously injured.

Police are continuing their search to locate the offender.
