The Ministry of Health is looking to bring on 500 extra nurses into public
hospitals, to meet agreements after the nurses' industrial action.
The Ministry's Dr Jill Clendon says they'll be looking into the recruitment
of nurses - starting in secondary schools.
She says it's also about retention of staff once they graduate.
Clendon says new graduates need support to transition into work effectively -
and they will be exploring how this can be done.
