Quaid Thompson has forced his way into the New Zealand kayaking team for next week's world championships in Portugal

The son of two-time Olympic champion Alan Thompson is the only able-bodied
male paddler in the squad after finishing fourth in the K1 1000 at the recent
under-23 worlds.
He'll compete in both the K1 1000 and K1 5000 in Portugal.
Lisa Carrington has been confirmed to compete in four events.
She'll attempt to defend her K1 200 and K2 500 titles and will also compete
in the K1 500 and K4 500.
