Steel company fined for making false claims about steel mesh product
A steel company has been fined more than half-a-million dollars for making false and misleading claims about one of its steel mesh products

Brilliance International claimed the mesh complied with earthquake-zone standards, when it didn't.
The company also made false and misleading claims the product had been independently tested at a New Zealand laboratory.
Brilliance International was sentenced on 20 charges in the Auckland District Court, and fined 540-thousand dollars.
