Police have arrested a 43-year-old woman over an assault in Glen Eden this afternoon

A woman was stabbed shortly after mid-day and is tonight in hospital being treated for multiple cuts.

The alleged offender faces a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and will be appearing in Waitakere District Court on Monday.

Now the matter is before the court Police say they'll be making no further comment.
