Residents frustrated nothing's being done to compensate for quake-like property damage caused by roading project
Local residents are frustrated nothing's being done to compensate for hundreds of thousands of dollars of quake-like property damage ... they say has been caused by the nearby roading project
20 August 2018
One homeowner's been locked in a battle with their insurance company, which
initially ruled the damage was most likely caused by machinery.
One year later it reversed its decision, claiming the policy did not cover
vibration damage.
Neither the insurance company or NZTA's contractors are willing to pay for
repairs, arguing the damage dates to before the motorway work.
Resident Gaylene Smith says she's getting mixed messages and just wants
answers.
She says they've had several meetings where NZTA's been present but still
nothing's happened.
Auckland Council claims it's not aware of complaints relating to the motorway
project, but will investigate further this week.
