Mixed verdicts at a murder trial in Hamilton

A jury has found Whakapumautanga Clarke guilty of murdering and robbing Scott Henry in his Kinloch home in July last year.

A second man, Cody Griffin was been found not guilty of murder, but guilty of manslaughter and robbery.

A third man, Daniel Chase, has been found guilty of aggravated robbery.

The court heard the three men hatched a plan to go to Scott Henry's home to rob it of drugs and cash.

Clarke claimed he shot Scott Henry by accident.

Scott Henry's partner was in the house, and fled in terror - hiding at an empty neighbour's property until police found her the next day.
