Police have blocked off part of Whanganui, as they deal with a gang shooting

Cordons are in place between Rogers Street and Kowhai Street, as officers
deal with a situation at a property on Puriri Street.

At least two gunshots were heard by local residents.

One person says they saw gang members fleeing shortly after the shots were
fired.

Police are asking people to stay away from the area if they can.
