A report by financial advice website interest.co.nz says buying a house in Auckland is still unaffordable, despite prices stabilising

The cost of a house in the city hasn't changed much since the start of the
year.
Couple that with lower interest rates and slowly increasing pay wages, the
market appears to be improving for buyers.
But property editor Greg Ninness says improvements are so minor that first
home buyers probably wouldn't notice the difference.
He says the Auckland buying market is still very tough.
It's a similar story in Queenstown, where the lower quartile price for a home
reached more than 800 thousand dollars last month.
