Optimism for Auckland's future as a world-leading city

Being a regular on the world's most liveable city lists, it's also been placed on a future readiness index - looking at how we'll fare as a city in a decade.
The list's authors, infrastructure consultancy, WSP Opus, praised Auckland as a high-tech, stable and secure city that's trying to ready itself and reduce its impact on climate change.
Mayor Phil Goff is thrilled.
He says we have a lot to improve, and we've already started.
WSP Opus' New Zealand director Ian Blair agrees, but says we won't get better overnight.
He notes, for example, the City Rail Link, which could have been built decades years ago.
