36-year-old William Erewiti Stead Maxwell blew over 12-hundred micrograms in
a breath test, before asking for a blood sample to be taken.
This revealed him to have 200 and sixty one milligrams of alcohol in his
system - the legal limit is 50 milligrams.
The summary of facts says after completing the blood taking process and blood
tubes were sealed in a kit box - William Maxwell grabbed the box from the
table, dropped it on the floor, and jumped on it.
He offered no explanation for why he jumped on the box when he appeared in
the Hutt Valley District Court on Friday.
He has seven previous convictions for alcohol or drug impaired driving and
was on a zero alcohol licence at the time.
Sentencing is set down for October 24.
