And an Auckland Principal says that's because multiple families are cramming into one home.
Less than one percent of children changed schools more than once last year.
However decile one pupils are still seven times more likely to move multiple times in a year, than a decile ten student.
Finlayson Park Principal Shirley Mahi says kids aren't moving as much because people are bunking two or three families into one house.
